Re: Java 7

Thank you Calls.

Next time, I'll follow your procedure and delete the existing Java first before I install the latest update.  I always assumed that when installing the latest Java update from the Java site, the previous Java and all folders relating to it would be uninstalled automatically.   I will manually delete the jre6 folder I asked about.

I'm glad this Norton community exists for whenever I have questions, I normally find my answers here.  When I do post a question, someone is always willing to help a nontechnical person like me.

Re: Java 7

Hi,

@ Calls

Thanks for your info. I uninstalled JavaFX 2.1 as I described in Message 12 of this thread as follows:

What you need to do is to go to 'Add or Remove Programs'/'Programs and Features' (depending on your OS) and uninstall JavaFX 2.1.0 just as you would with anything else; this shouldn't affect your JRE in anyway. I've got rid of it on our XP desktop and both of our Windows 7 laptops and no problems have arisen becaue of this. In the very unlikely event that you do experience any difficulties, you can always reinstall it.

@  Gorpy1

You were wondering about JavaFX, so I hope that you find the following link useful:
