JAVA has released a update for java the update is through the program updater. WATCH for the ASK toolbar during the install!!!

are you talking about Java 7 Update 5? Hasn't that been out awhile?

Hi Calls java was updated to 7.6 last week it depends if you were running java 6 or 7 the update will very   if you go to oracle.com and look for the update it still is on the last version before the update but if you go java.com the updated version is available. The main reason for the checkbox warning is for the builtin updater as you noted witch I read through the updater screens as you install the update. If you download the full download 30mb in size you do not get the checkbox for the ASK toolbar. If you use version 6 the last version is 6.34

thats strange. I'm on my computer now. I go to java. com I click the free java download box . Verson available is 7 update 5 for Windows

Hi,

Just checked at oracle.com they mention that the update is for everyone EXCEPT Calls!!  HaHaHa!!!

Now seriously, open your computer go to control panel or C:\Program files, then programfiles x86 then Java, then bin folder find javacpl, right-click to run as admin, then click the tab "Update" and the update will come to you, no ASK toolbar will appear etc.

Let us know if it worked for you.

Please note that this update does not update the FX files which remain to version 2.1.1

If you do not want Java to check for updates automatically, right click to javaclp to run as admin and then uncheck the update automatically box. (For vista & W7).

So maybe those who have Java and use the update feature get the newer version a little sooner than the general public? Like if I had no Java at all, say I deleted it, and then I go to Java. com, the free download version is 7 update 5. So maybe they distrbute it out first to "updating" users before the public at large?

Iz'm not kidding, go to java. com and see what version the free download is

Java is mainly distributed now by Oracle.com, in my opinion they didn't do the image update at Java.com servers.

I know that Java.com is still on Java 7 update 5 but I suggest you update as the latest update may contain some security fixes.

As far as I'm concerned, I updated 3 days before, on my 3 pc's, 1 with XP Pro and 2 with W7 X64 with no problems and the latest version is J 7 update 6.

Hi this is the download URL that I use to get the latest version   www.filehippo.com  that takes you to the updated download. I did note that if you go to java.com you will find the old version.
