A new SUPER ANTI SPYWARE #5.1.0.1002 has been released to update use the builtin updater  as the down load at superantispyware.com is still at the old version.

Although the download page at SAS still shows the old version - 5.0.1150, if you download from there, you actually get the new version 5.1.1002. I know that this is right because I've just done it! The new version installs over the old version without any problems, in fact it uninstalls it for you in the process. It then automatically updates the database for you. This is in the free version, but it's probably the same for the Pro version.

Thanks Madeline thats how I found out about the new SAS version by running the manual defs update and found the new version that way.    ALF60

Hi ALF60,

I thought that you meant that you got SAS 5.1.1002 via the built-in updater. When I checked for updates, I just got the updated defs and nothing about the new version. I downloaded the full program from the SAS site after seeing on their forum  that it was available from the SAS download site, despite still showing the old version - it still does in fact - very confusing!

Just a word of caution.

I have just ran a Full system scan with SAS free and have found three files related to Adobe reader.  These finds are false positives.

Here are my detections.

Trojan.Agent/Gen-Decay

    C:\WINDOWS\INSTALLER\$PATCHCACHE$\MANAGED\68AB67CA7DA73301B744AA0100000010\10.1.0\READER_SL.EXE

Does SAS have a link for submitting false positives and did you do so?

It seems they have already been submitted to SAS  http://forums.superantispyware.com/index.php?/topic/6948-false-positive-or-a-real-virus/.  I submitted them to Quads
