Hello all, So, I've finally bitten the bullet and installed the No Script add-on for Firefox. I am wondering if there is any settings I need to be aware of and anything I should know about with this add-on. Any input from No Script users welcome. Thanks, Dave.

Hi Krusty,
The default settings should be fine as you get acquainted with NoScript. There is a learning curve and also a period when you first install the add-on when you will need to make allowances for the sites you regularly visit. Once you get rolling and learn the ropes, things will become easier - so don't think the extension is going to always be as much of a nuisance as it is when you first start using it. You will quickly get the knack for figuring out which domains on a page need to be allowed and which ones should be left blacklisted. If you need help with any specific issue, please feel free to ask. Otherwise the Features page and the FAQs on the NoScript site should help.

Hello Dave,
I've been using NoScript for several years now and I agree fully with what SendOfJive has already said. Mostly I just use the default settings and rarely experience any difficulty. You may find the NoScript forums useful if you do happen to encounter any problems:

Madeline and SendOfJive,
Thank you very much. That is exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks for the links as well.
Cheers, Dave.

Hi,
I have been very happy with this add on and I don't know why I waited so long to use it. I have also started using Addblock Plus.
Today I noticed the No Script icon had disappeared from the top left corner. I tried right clicking the toolbar > Customize and drag the icon, but I still could not view it. Next was remove and reinstall. Now the Icon is at the bottom right and the Addblock Plus icon has vanished. ![]()
Any suggestions?
Thanks, Dave.

..... Never mind. I've got it sorted again. ![]()
I have found the culprit! Norton Utilities removes the Icon when I "Clean" my disks. I have found the setting to stop this behaviour. If anyone is interested, it's in the browser section under Firefox. If I uncheck Cache, History and Address Bar, the No Script add-on remains intact.
Thanks, Dave.
