Hi,
Oh no hard feelings just checkin. Try to reinstall the tune-up utilities and optimize your hdd, run disk cleanup.because then only tune-up will create a boot.ini entry for a recovery os partition. And add an exception in NIS if it quarantines any tune-up files.

Hello again..!
I think I may have solved the problem, finally!!
It seems as though the F8 Safe Boot Screen I referred too was generated souly by TuneUp Utils and is NOT part of my motherboard boot menu.
I have created a new Boot Screen and applied it using TuneUp Styler (part of TuneUp Utilities) and now my 'boot.ini' has changed and looks like yours, see below;
I need to get some sleep now so I will report back later today when I next re-boot my machine. Hopefully my missing F8 screen will have returned again!
It may interest you to do a search on Google regarding this topic : tuneup utilities boot.ini
I found lots of useful info which although did not solve my problem, it did point me in the right direction!
When in Doubt, don't uninstall your problem software -- reverse engineer it!

Hi slinky,
That sounds good if the boot option screen stays that way...I asked you to reinstall tune-up to restore any missing files and entries.
The file which NIS 2011 quarantined was Logonui.exe and NIS also removed the registry entry for this key also!!
Wow i did a google search with the same exact key words before posting that image of mine...![]()

Hi ya Subash.., thanks for sticking with me on this one! ![]()
PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Replacing my Windows Boot Screen with a custom one solved the problem and as shown in my last posting the addition of the extra switches in the 'Boot.ini' file seemed to do the trick! I wonder why TuneUp Utilities don't document this problem? Mind you, their tech support is the worst I've ever experienced so that probably answers that question!
I did have to re-enable 'Time to display list of operating systems' which for some reason was disabled after applying the new boot screen. But other than that my problem is now solved.., hooray!! ![]()
I think it was probably the Google searches I did last night which eventually helped me figure it all out.
Thanks again for your helpful pointers along the way subash, it is much appreciated! ![]()
All the best

Hi Slinky,
Thats awesome that it worked for you. You have to thank Allen on the first hand, Because Allen gave the option prior to me
see for the post below
From Windows go to Windows Explorer, then right click on Computer and select Properties. Click the Advanced tab then click Settingsin the Startup and Recovery section. There are two options here. One is Time to display list of operating systems and the other is Time to display recovery options when needed. Ensure that either or both depending on your system is checked and that the timeout is set to something reasonable like 30 seconds or something.
I'm glad that it worked for you- Subash Prabu![]()

Hi again chap!
Thanks for reminding me about that!
Actually I do recall at the time of Allen mentioning the 'startup & recovery'settings it had made no difference to my problem.
I think the original 'boot.ini' had perhaps become corrupted somehow and simply replacing it with a fresh customized boot screen had overwritten it. If you remember, I also mentioned that NIS 2011 had quarentined 'Logonui.exe' which is responsible for the Windows logon screen, I had customized that too using TuneUp Utilities Styler, coincidentally the same program which I used to customize my 'boot.ini'!!! Seems to me that NIS & TU's Styler had a falling out at some stage!! ![]()
Oh well, all's well that ends well!
Thanks to everyone who helped out - the beers are on me!! ![]()
Oh & one last thing..., here's what my F8 Safe Boot Screen really looks like! Top marks to subash for recognising a similar one on Google!!
