Hi,
Is this an update to a previous security update? I posted this on another forum, where it was pointed out that the security bulletin you linked to is dated 2009. Is the link you gave incorrect? I haven't had any updates from MS on any of my PCs today, although I checked after seeing this thread, but none was available.

Dave.
That's an update to Windows Update engines ....
I have 7.5.7601.17514 at present and that new one is 7.6.7600.256 for most of the files
It is not being offered to me at the moment and it doesn't show when WUD is manually updated ....
I'm on WIndows 7 32 bit on this machine.

Hi everyone I have two updates on my computer for kb967723 the first one when I reinstalled the o.s.(windows vista sp2) and the last one that I installed on june 18 2012 . Like Hugh I do not have the last update for the windows update.

I believe this update is being distributed in a phased roll out.
One of my Windows 7 machines received the update and another did not receive it.
The update took me by surprise because my machines are set to "Check for Updates but let me choose whether to download and install them".
During the day, there was no indication that this update had been downloaded, but when I restarted my computer for another reason, I was presented with a screen that "Windows is installing updates ..... " The screen disappeared rather quickly but I remember seeing the number 45 displayed twice.
After the restart was complete, Windows Update History showed that Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.256 had been installed.
A brief search on the internet confirms that this update took a number of people by surprise as no user intervention was requested.

Calls,
If you go to the latest link posted -- to the Update Agent KB and scan down to File Information you can click on expand and get a listing of file names and versions etc.
I just took one of them Wuauclt.exe and searched using the Windows 7 Search box and it pointed me to the file; right mouse click and select Properties / Details and it gave me the version details.....
I don't think VISTA is as powerful in searching as Windows 7 but you can try that or try opening Windows Explorer and finding a file there.
