PMSPEED MFC Application

There is a program, application that starts up on my HP Computer.  I have no idea what it is or if it is some kind of spyware. It runs on startup. Do you know if it is a logger, virus, spyware?  Do I need it?  A quick search on the internet just does not answer what it is or why it is on the computer.

Re: PMSPEED MFC Application

It appears to be some sort of freeware that may have downloaded along with something else.  The website that distributes it has a very poor rating by WOT, although Norton Safe Web and McAfee Site Adviser report it as clean.  Try uninstalling through add/remove.

Thanks, I could not find a way to remove but used Tune Up Utilites to disable it from running at startup.

Once you disable the process, you may be able to remove it.

Re: PMSPEED MFC Application

This is my experience, I believe if I remember correctly this downloaded with my EPSON Printer, ARCSoft program. Called "NewSoft Presto! PageManager.

If you have installed an EPSON product  with a cd driver it may be listed on it.

Also I believe it is separated from EPSON by it's own trademark.  EPSON is a registered trademark of SEIKO.ARCSoft and NEWSoft are trademarks of their respective owners.  Maybe why your investigation did not take you far.
