It seems a bit slow for a pulse update to take longer than a live update. Two comments, the pulse happened while the system was not idle and stranger things have happened. If this is a consistant condition then it may be time to talk with your ISP. Otherwise, blame it on sun spots or the temperature or the phase of the moon. Internet traffic can also have this effect so I wouldn't worry, just monitor.

As speed is related to the signal strength you receive from the towers, and traffic on those towers, it could be that you may not have had a fast connection at that time.

You could occassionally run the internet speed test from the
link below which will allow you to monitor the Next G upload
and download speeds of the wireless Telstra data network.
