I'm trying to download Norton Antivirus 2012 on my Windows 7 laptop, and I cannot Uninstall CA Anti-virus Plus or CA
Internet Suite (anti-virus).
Can anyone help me? I believe the CA Anti-virus was installed when I bought my laptop in 2010 by the folks
at Best Buy.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You!
Mindy

Hi Min,
Welcome to Norton Community.
I can give you two easy methods which i am aware of to remove CA antivirus.
1. Goto the location C:\Program Files\CA (anti-virus) and open the folder. Open it and look for an 'uninstaller.exe' file- double click it and that should uninstall the product
2. If that does not help, reboot your computer in safe mode and then try uninstalling from control panel or the uninstall file in C:\Program Files\CA (anti-virus)

1. Go to the Start button, then to Programs, then clicked on CA anti-virus, then clicked UNINSTALL at the top. My computer
will then give me an error message that says it's not responding and when it finds an answer it will let me know. (whatever)
2. The 2nd way I tried was to click on the little red X/ flag (bottom right corner of my computer) that states I need to solve
a computer issue. When I click on it, Open Action Center, it won't uninstall the CA anti-virus.
Nothing has worked which is leading me to believe it IS a virus....this CA thing

I gather it worked as It is solved, just the way it looks with your post underneth stating I will give it a try now.
If not I could pull the CA product out for you via scripting.
