I saw that this service had started, I dont know why, I dont use any proxy?
Also checking the properties of Winhttp under Services there is a authentication login user and a password filled in.

Hi
This Page will provide more insight on the Autoproxy service. If the ISP is using a Proxy server(to improve the security) at their end then the settings for that proxy server should be configured in the end-users computer to get your computer connected to the internet without any proxy being configured at your end. For that purpose they use this service to start the proxy configuration automatically.

No atleast from what I know the ISP doesnt any proxy so I understand why this is started nor that there is user/password configuration set up. What does your WinHttp service say under properties regarding this?

This Proxy is not configured at your computer, they'll be using a proxy server at their end to fortify their server security. And in properties i don't see any username/password, below are the things i can see in event properties
Logname Source Event ID Level User OpCode More-Information Logged Task-Category Keywords Computer

I meant your properties for "Winhttp web proxy-auto discovery" which could be found under Services.

Hi
I too have some thing in the Passowrd Box under the Log on tab. According to my knowledge this service will automatically finds the proxy configuration in the computer and directs the Applications(which are querying the internet through Http protocol) through the Proxy server. And if you are getting any error messages or if your too annoyed with the logs in the event viewer you can go ahead and stop this service which will not cause any harm, unless you've been provided a proxy configuration by your ISP.
