I have read an article that caught my eye about malware that Yahoo says the FBI has been battling but the fix expires on Monday, July 9th, 2012. This is regarding Malware that has been laying dormant on people's computers. Is this true? It sounds so much like a hoax. They say there have been announcements on facebook and a link to click on to check your computer! Who would click on that link! This seems crazy to me. The article says it has been widely publicized. Am I the only one who didn't know about it until I read the article. They don't even give the Malware a name.
Here is the link to the article: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/malware-may-knock-th

Hi bluepaint60,
This is the link to check your computer for any changes as far as DNS.
The website will display ... DNS Resolution = Green as long as you're
computer is free of this malware.

Hi bluepaint60,
It is not dormant malware, but the fact that the malware has changed the DNS settings in infected systems, that will cause some people to lose their internet on July 9. Most ISPs, Google and Facebook have been alerting affected users to fix their systems, and antivirus software has long been able to detect the malware. Only those with infected systems who have ignored the warnings will be at risk.
