Re: admin account/files

yes im doing this all from the admin account.i removed all permissions from the standard account and when i log into the standard account i try and go to the admin folder and i can access:desktop, downloads,my documents,my music,my pictures,my videos but i can not access contacts, favorites, links, saved games and searches.should the whole admin folder be access denied?also when i log back into the admin account and look at that list of user names the standard account is not in the list anymore,is this normal?

Re: admin account/files

Hi,

That is okay. Try this Log in to your admin a/c and go to c:->users-> [admin folder] right click goto security->advanced->effective permissions->select->advanced->find now-> [standard a/c] and remove all the permissions and click okay...:)

Otherwise create a new standard a/c and try to access tha folder...

Hi,

Please goto properties of the admin folder and under security tab select edit and select add-> click advanced->find now-> select the std user a/c click ok and now that std user must be visible under security select deny next to Full Control Now close all the internet based applications like your browser then click apply->click yes->click ok now try to access that admin a/c folder from that user.

if it doesnt work please tell me what are the permission entries under advanced:

Goto Properties of that admin a/c folder->security->advanced->permissions
