I can't get my computer to remove McAfee Security SW.
Did anyone else have this problem, and if so, how do you go about getting McAfee deleted?
Thanks!

Welcome,
Sorry you are having a problem. You can download their removal tools from this site: http://home.mcafee.com/store/free-services
After you remove their software be sure to reboot and install the security product of your choice. It isn't safe to run naked through the Internet. ![]()

Hello Hyzenfox,
I had to uninstall McAfee Security from 2 laptops earlier this year. You should be able to do it successfully if you uninstall it using 'Add or Remove Programs' or 'Programs and Features' (depending on your OS), then reboot and use the McAfee Removal Tool, reboot again and you should then be clear of McAfee Security.
I hope that this works for you!

Oops! Sorry, the link I gave doesn't work. Hopefully, the one below will:

Hello again,
My apologies for breaking the rules! I've just remembered a thread here that I found very helpful when I needed to uninstall McAfee Security and hopefully it'll be useful to Hyzenfox too:
http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Sec
It's the 2nd link in post #2 by delphinium that's very helpful; that link takes you to the McAfee Communities forum and there's a link in post #7 there where you can get the McAfee Removal Tool.
Alternatively, you can go to:
http://mcafee-removal-tool.com/
Where there's a link to download the same McAfee Removal Tool.
Then just follow the procedure I gave in post #3 and McAfee Security should be completely uninstalled - it certainly worked for me anyway.
I hope that I haven't broken any rules this time, I'm really sorry that I did so before.

Thanks for trying Madeline ....
It's not easy with some of the removal tool sources to give a link to a page which is not an automatic download of an exe file.

Thanks Hugh, I feel a lot better now! I've received help here in the past and will probably do so again in the future, so I Wanted to help someone else. I belong to other forums where what I did would have been OK and I don't always remember which is which!
Thanks again,
