I am far from a computer expert. That said, I too had a run in with funmoods. It took me 2 months to get rid of this malware. It fully takes over your computer so you can't access your home page or use your search engines. It really slows down computer performance as well. The way I got rid of funmoods follows. First, I went to the control panel and deleted the program. I followed this with downloading Spyhunter. I was told to download from onto a thumb drive using another computer. I did this, installed and ran the program. I followed this with something from FireFox called "Firebug". I ran this next. funmoods continued to dominate my computer. I tried to change may home page under my Internet settings in the control panel to no avail. I was effectively locked out. Then, my computer really slowed down so I decided to clean the registry, compact, etc. I bleached the registry, then had a problem accessing my college email. It said I needed to accept cookies, so I went to the options menu in FireFox, Internet, and I think under privacy, I found the cookies that are on my computer. In scrolling down the list, I came across funmoods, so I deleted it. I haven't seen hide nor hair of funmoods since. It was in 2 places. I have my home page back and full control of my computer.
It should be noted that Norton started out saying funmoods was a malicious site, then it said the program was fine. This is not a safe program. It hijacks your search engine, pop-up blocker and your computer. It is definitely malware. I hope this helps others remove this program from their computers.
