I do not know the validity of the statement as I am not familiar with HP tech support (they have virus support?) however I am quite sure that somewhere there is a list of companies that are at the top of the list.

Although the statement does leave me wondering if the person believes this to be true why are they making the trip to this forum just for that one post?

Yes I understand, I didn't mean anything bad by the question/comment. I just wanted to point out that if people are actually interested I'm sure there have been survey's done to find out whom ranks as some of the best/worst tech support people for various categories.

Oh dear, if there is a place to vent I will need to charge the batteries in the keyboard first (-:

I didn't mean that you were venting mumford.  I was more making a comment about the original post, among others.  I suspect that the success or failure of any tech support will be determined by the expectations of those seeking assistance rather than the skill of the tech support.

Funny but in one of the Compuserve Forums I do support in someone was saying exactly the opposite.

the most common answer individuals give here is that

USA is costly India is cheap!!!

i.e People  demand more salary in USA while in India the Salary is less

But You should give us some credit/Thanks

A lot of foreign company are opeing BPO/call centers  So,

you work in day sleep at night we sleep in day and work at nights!(BPO/CallCenter only)

Habits changed!

2.Rumors/news/analysis/study has it that Chinese and Philipines will take over tech support from india in a few years

i.e if the world does not end in 2012
