I for one are glad to see symantec intend to keep Signature-based Detection, e.g. Virus Definitions, Intrusion Prevention, e.t.c. and the Auto-Protect Feature, along with On-Demand Scanning.  These Methods are still very useful, as long as you keep your Anti-Virus Product up-to-date.
