Problem with huge backup files (and not being able to delete them) in Norton 360 on Vista
Hi
I hope you can help
I am running Windows Vista Home Premium and have Norton 360 v3.0 installed. I have 586gb of hard drive but only 57.3gb available - after much searching I realise this is because I have 480+gb of files in a Symantic backup folder - several each day for the last 8 months with various file extensions - @DB SLG ARC LBU @DS SRT

I tried deleting files before todays versions but can't get beyond it saying "Destination Folder Access Denied" - I've looked all around the forum but none of the solutions relate to my specific problem.

What do I do?
thanks

Re: Problem with huge backup files (and not being able to delete them) in Norton 360 on Vista

You can see a Norton Backup drive in your Windows explorer. Open the Norton Backup drive and then delete the backup sets that you want to delete.

If you still receive the "access denied" message, then you may want to disable the Norton Tamper protection in Norton 360 version 3.0. See the following link to disable Norton Tamper protection.

Turning on or turning off Norton Tamper Protection in Norton 360 Version 3.0

Thanks - it has now sorted itself but this was by me going to the online storage page and asking it to delete storage there - somehow someway this has also deleted all the un-necessary backup files - now down to 10% used - hurrah

thanks anyway
