Re: Mouse Flickers and Norton logs an instance of .... is preparing to access the internet

Good news I think I fixed it!  It was Rogue.winpcdefender in the registry.  I removed by using a tool suggested by Quads on this forum SUPERantiSpyware.  It found that and 16 cookies that norton never.  Thanks for all the help I am currently doing a full scan with Malwarebytes and will post that log and Hijackthis log.  It has stopped flickering!

Make Sure Both Malwarebytes and SuperAntispyware Free have their definition databases up to date, you have to do it by clicking the update tabs / buttons.

Re: Mouse Flickers and Norton logs an instance of .... is preparing to access the internet

Hi BassetHound

I'm no expert with HiJackThis logs, but I can see that you have several files listed there as missing. I don't know if they are vital files or not. Someone who is an expert with HiJackThis logs will have to tell you what if anything needs to be fixed according to that log. Just don't delete anything from that log using HiJackThis until someone who is qualified can tell you what to do if anything. Since you had those malwares before, you might have to repair somethings.

Re: Mouse Flickers and Norton logs an instance of .... is preparing to access the internet

Ok so it came back and here is why:

Every couple of seconds as stated the mouse goes to the loading sign.  I downloaded process explorer which told me that dllhost.exe is turned off and then back on which causes the computer to load so it puts up the loading symbol.  My question is what is causing this? Could it be a virus?  The file is in the system32 folder and its company name is Microsoft.  Norton, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware all say no viruses so what gives?

Thanks for all of the help it is appreciated and I hope this is enough information.
