I've been looking for system maintenance solutions and found this ones here. wanted to know if it is recommendable or if i just don't have to install it for any major disadvantages? System info = ''Windows 7 Ultimate 64 - bit SP1, Dual Core 5500 2.8 Mhz, 2 GB ram, ATI Radeon 5670 1 GB DDR5''

Re: Iolo System Mechanic and System Mechanic Pro?

Hi EagleHeart111

I have used Iolo System Mechanic for a good number of years now and never had any problem with it at all! It runs well on Windows7 64Bit systems and lives quite happily with Norton products !

I have used it in the past with Comodo Firewall and various A/V programs and never had any negative issues with any of the configurations whatsoever.

The program has an extensive set of tools which covera pretty wide range and scope of "fixes" .

I have always found it excellent and worth the money! I tried various free tools that did a decent job...but for me...Iolo had the edge and I stayed with it .It's all a matter of personal choice really ..

I like the interface...the range of tools provided...and the main thing is..it has never removed or altered anything that I didn't want it to...Some of the competition did however...and that's why I stayed with Iolo as my "maintenance tool " of choice ...Hope this info helps?

Windows7 SP1....Norton NIS 2012 ...4Gb RAM ..Momentus XT SolidState HybridHD

Yes pal it helped a lot =) indeed i installed iolo yesterday, but it closes by itself, i don't know what happens, but i know it's a great system maintenance software. my pc technician hates TuneUp and told me it caused more damage to windows than what it repaired. i'm a bit doubtful bout his thought bout it but i guess he might be right.

Your post is encouraging, but when I was loading Norton Security Suite from comcast it wanted me to remove System Mechanic.  Why Presumably the program designers foresaw a serious problem.

Welcome,

There is a known conflict between realtime security scanners. They like to occupy the same spaces and do the same things. They may also see each other as a threat. My recommendation is always to have one active security program [I am Norton prejudiced :smileywink:] and then any other tools or scanners you like which can add to your security and maintenance bag of tricks.

Hope this helps

Re: Iolo System Mechanic and System Mechanic Pro?

I don't follow how you do what you suggest. I updated both System Mechanic and Norton Internet Security and now my computer conflicts and reboots. I don't want to uninstall either program, but I need some help in making them both work. Could dickevans please explain how you get one scanner to run and then another? Thank you.
