npm vs dat on rollback

If I wanted to rollback 360 v6 to v5, will v5 recognize the Identity Safe backup as a dat file since v5 used the npm format? If not, how do you save your ID Safe as an npm file before you rollback to v5 (I hate the v6 ID Safe History) and do not see any benefits of v6.

Hi kenepp1,
The DAT format used by the 2012 products are not backwards compatible with earlier versions, so you would not be able to restore your Identity Safe data for N360v6 to N360v5 in that way. Do you have an earlier saved backup in the .NPM format that you could use?

Thanks for confirming my guess on the npm vs dat. Yes I have a npm file I backed up before updating to v6, but of course, I have added some logins since then. I just wish Norton would listen to it's customers and create on off switch for the login history.
Is it just me, or does anyone else have trouble reading the Word Verifications? I have to change it multiple times to get one I can read.

Hi kenepp 1,
Well, at least you are in better shape than some users in that you did backup prior to switching and still have the .npm file available to use as a start. Having to add some are better than having to recreate them all. ![]()
The word verifcations will go away as you make more posts - can't rememeber the number required at the moment for them to disappear.
