Having to read blurry letters to register

When I was signing up for this forum (or posting), there were places to read blurry letters and enter them.  There were some letters blurred so badly I wasn't sure what to enter.

I know you have to do this for security, but they are too blurred for a lot of people, causing frustration.  Plus most forums don't require that for making a post.

Hello robertjc,

As you mentioned, the CAPTCHA function is for security.

However it does not last forever. After you have made a few posts, it will no longer be required.

Norton 360 • Norton Internet Security • Norton Zone | XP SP3 • Windows 7 Professional SP1 x64
• PLEASE, BACKUP or EXPORT your Identity Safe Data on a regular basis •

Robertjc, you are right, CAPTCHA is a security measure for the Norton Community new users.  An alternative would be to use the audio option which is also provided.  Hopefully that might be a bit easier for you.

Please be sure and post any additional issues you might have and  WELCOME to the forum!

Re: Having to read blurry letters to register

Some of the websites where I've encountered this technique have a button "If you have difficulty reading ..." click here that brings up a different set.

I've met some where it's very difficult to know if it is a 7, a 1 or an l ; or is it a 2 or a Z so this feature is very useful
