That is why I replied about TDSSKiller and that Programs are trying to keep up with TDL3 as it keeps changing.

You say You used TDSSkiller a month ago, TDSSkiller has been up dated within a month, and you don't need to use the commands to run TDSSkiller either,

3- Click Start > Run and copy/paste the following bold command into Run box and hit Enter.
"%userprofile%\Desktop\TDSSKiller.exe" -v

Just have it on you desktop and click with the mouse to run it.

I have on purpose installed 3 or 4 variants of TDL3 on my PC to see what it does and if programs are keeping up with it, I can manually remove it if I need to, if programs can't find a variant.

Re: How to fix Backdoor.Tidserv!inf

Hi,

Where is the link for TDL3? The one i used month ago was version 2.1.1.0.

I can't get help from technical foums as they don't support system on corporation level as system needs to go through different stages for deleting and installing stuff.

I have read in some forums about TDSSKILLER's side effects as it can messed up the pc.

Now i really confuse that whether should i fix the Backdoor.Tidserv!inf or just leave it? Diiferent people on this forum are recommending different solutions?

thanks

Re: How to fix Backdoor.Tidserv!inf

Do a Google search for it, "TDSSkiller" and it should be the first result in the list.

Best you disable Norton Auto-Protect and Firewall for 15 mins or 1 hour just before running it.

It's OK if it comes back clean, It's just to hopefully make sure you are clean from the latest variants, before thinking Norton has Unresolved threats stuck in Norton.

Norton 2009 or 2010??

Norton 2009 would need the "FIX", Norton 2010 has in the Unresolved Treats (Security History) a "Clear Entries" Button.

Hi momer79

Do you mean you are using the corporate version of Antivirus, if so which year?

If You are using Symantec Corporate, you may have to ask their site how to clean the Qbackup folder entries to remove the stuck Unresolved Threats list.
