NIS 2012 problem with networking XP computer

I'm having a problem accessing files on a XP computer from my other network computers (one is Vista, other is W7). I can access the non-XP computers and files from the XP computer, but not the reverse. When I try to connect to the XP computer from the non-XP computers, I can "see" the XP computer and when I click on it, I get a list of the shared folders; but when I click on a folder, I get a "strange" error message: says the folder is not accessible - you might not have permission..... And the last sentence is..... not enough server storage to process this command.
Any ideas on how to solve this issue?

I'm not familiar with the server storage error. That's new. Is this a new set up? Could you connect with all three machines previously? If you right click on the shared folder, does it show as shared with everyone?
Have you rebooted since setting up the sharing?

Thanks for your reply. Answer to all of your questions is yes. I recently upgraded the W7 computer from NIS 2011 to 2012, but I don't think that is the issue - since I got the same error message on the Vista machine, which is still NIS 2011. Your link's info did not resolve my issue either.

Okay, so if I understand you correctly:
1. You built the workgroup using the Win 7 computer and the required settings and passwords have been loaded into each machine.
2. Norton or any other security software sees all three machines on each of the other computers and they are set to full trust in the Norton Network map. Check to make sure each one is properly listed, its IP and description.
3. Right click on the shared folders in XP, properties, and make sure that the share this folder is checked, maximum allowed, click new share and put in the folder name and click permissions. Check eveyone.
4. Right-click on your network connection>properties and ensure that Microsoft file and printer sharing is checked.
5. Reboot all three machines so that the router can sort them out.
6. Depending on the router, you could try resetting it as well
7. If you still have problems, I would suggest going back to 2011 on the 2012 machine.
I have a Win 7 Pro and an XP Pro machine in the office, and I found the sharing set up much less problematic than I expected. All the ducks have to be in order, and then the reboot seems to set it all up.

Interesting. We will have to watch for that in the 2012 version. The stack size wasn't an issue for my setup, so it may be systemic in nature and a combination of conflicts. Don't hesitate to click the solution button on your own post as the solution so that others can find it.
