Hello FrostByte and welcome to the Community. Not to keep shuffling you around.. But have you looked at this POST by tanuki with comments from Bombastus? Sounds like about the same type problem, maybe that solution will help.

Thnx PC_confused for the link, missed that one, but still no go! ![]()
Gonna remove Firefox alltogether and install it again, lets see what happens then.

I'm using Vista Ultimate 32 bit. I just did a complete wipe/reinstall of my OS so it is a fresh install of Norton Internet Security. I'm using Firefox 9.0.1. The old toolbar is working fine in IE, but trying all of the solutions I've read on here for getting the updated version of the toolbar just haven't worked. I'm stuck on the previous version of the toolbar.
Wish there was some way I could just download and install the new version of the toolbar!

Hi imaref,
This may be the only way you'll get it!
Please do the following in the exact order I list:
Totally uninstall Firefox
Download a fresh copy of Firefox 9.0.1 from here: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/
Install the fresh copy of firefox.
Download a fresh copy of NIS 2012 from here: www.norton.com/nis12
If you use Identity Safe, backup your Identity Safe data. Due to the critical nature of the information contained in ID safe we would recommend backing that up manually first just as a precaution even though you will choose to retain all settings when removing NIS.
Remove NIS using Programs and Features (Add/Remove Programs if you are using XP) - do not run the NRT as you'll want to keep your Identitiy Safe and other settings.
Install the fresh copy of NIS.. Run LiveUpdate as many times as necessary for it to respond that there are no updates available (rebooting as requested by LiveUpdate), and then reboot one more time.
I have seen it take as many as 6 reboots, so please be patient!
Once all that is done in the order I am asking for you to do it, please check Firefox 7.01 and let us know the version number (hopefully it will not show "Release") and also look at "Add-on's" and see if Norton Toolbar 2011.7.2.3 and Symantec IPS 3.2 are listed and shown as enabled.
Do you now have the Norton Toolbar in FF 9.0.1

Amazing.... this works! But what a PITA just to recieve a simple update. There must be a war going on between Symantec and Mozella to see which one will admit defeat to the other and we poor customers suffer!
This should not happen !

On Vista I can confirm an uninstall of NIS from the control panel without using the Norton Removal Tool works to get the Norton Toolbar for ff 9.01.Just run liveupdate several times after reinstalling NIS with two required reboots then all is well. Make sure you enable the newer version in your FF 9.01 addons.
