Re: Outlook 2010 64-bit support in NIS
[ Edited ]

I have the same problem. This week I upgraded to the 2012 version of Norton Internet Security from 2011 since my license key was due to expire and I found a very good deal on the latest version from a reputable vendor.

In the previous version, Outlook was fine and was happily able to receive email. Ever since I installed the latest version, I've been unable to retrieve email using Outlook 2010 64-bit as Outlook continuously pops up prompts for credentials to each of my maill accounts (all POP3). I know it's not a credentials problem, as the same credentials allow me to retrieve messages on my smartphone (with Norton Mobile Security).

What changed between the 2011 and 2012 versions of the software and is there a workaround so that at least the Antivirus portion of the product can scan incoming messages? If not, is there a way that I can install the previous version of the product (2011) with the new license key I acquired when I purchased the 2012 version?

Based upon my research in this form, although it would be nice to have the AntiSpam component functional, it's not as big of a requirement since I can implement a workaround for that missing component using mailing rules, and increasing filtering at the ISP level. However, the AntiVirus scanning is my biggest concern.

Thanks
