The guys over at the lenovo forums found the solution.  They had me do this and after doing method 1 under general troubleshooting, my ethernet and wireless started to work again under Network Connections.  I just need to figure out if I can reinstall AC, but it seems like everything is functional again.  Not sure what caused the connections to disappear, but I am glad it is fixed.  Thanks for the help everyone.
