I understand your reasoning, but I don’t agree with it.

When I schedule a backup at 18:00 I mean “Back up at 18:00”, I do not mean “back up at 18:00 after you’ve checked with me again to see if that’s really what I want”.

And for the “not online message” I can appreciate its value if at 17:45 the destination drive is not available, but the message is completely useless at 06:00 every morning.

However, whatever your preferences may be, if there were an option to enable/disable these messages then everyone could be happy. After all, there is a “notifications” section in “Options”.
