Leaving Norton because of Crypto

I am sorry to say, I think your Crypto-program should STOP!!! Plus there is no way of removing the added addition to Norton 360. If someone turns it on by mistake and doesn't really know what they are doing it could cost them money. Plus there are a lot of factors about farming crypto. You are making money by using your customers who want a securing feature and service.

I used your crypto program and currently all I see is Norton and Coinbase making the profits. Out of a 6+ dollar mining I received 2+ dollars. My energy bill for that time frame was more than 2+ dollars.

I will gladly now take my service to another security software.

HG! When you said:

Actually, a single user isn't "farming". There is "pooling" which does take most of the security issues out of the scenario with Norton providing the backend protections. Coinbase, is an issue I cannot attest to since Norton doesn't support my GPU's. FWIW!! Cryto was first an EAP BETA and Norton feels the product is mature enough to provide it to the general public with the geolocation restrictions of course. GDPR in other countries makes it almost impossible to release the product there. In my personal instance, I would love to be able to SEE AND USE the product, to provide more support than I personally and other here on the forums can. From experience, I would suggest allowing the product to "mature". Long haulers are usually the first to make that "gotcha moment" pay off when other abandon. Good luck going forward.

Re: Leaving Norton because of Crypto

I would say the answer to the wallet issue is contractual. Yes indeed the wallet should be of the user choosing, much more customer facing. Are you familiar with the FAQ's of Norton Crypto? Coinbase is the ONLY digital wallet transfer platform at the present time, I'm sure you are already aware of that. In its current form, Crypto is a lose scenario for the everyday user who is not dedicated entirely to mining specifically due to the fees involved. That is the built in price of removing the mining risks on the part of Norton. Coinbase should be dumped for a more customer friendly solution.
