How to Check If You’re Using S Mode

You can check whether you’re using S Mode by heading to Settings > System > About. On the About page, scroll down to the “Windows Specifications” section.

If you see the words “in S mode” to the right of the Edition entry, you’re using an S Mode PC. If you don’t, you’re not using S Mode.

Windows 10 and Windows 11 in S mode FAQ

If you have Window in S Mode, you cannot install the regular Norton 360. You need to install Norton UWP app from the Windows store. See this Norton Product Announcement.
https://community.norton.com/en/blogs/product-service-announcements/norton-uwp/apps-now-available-windows-10-s

If you search the Windows Store for the Norton UWP app and it is displayed as available, your device is in S mode, and that is the Norton app you have to use.  (credit peterweb)
