how to rename licensed devices

Our office has 20 licenses (two Norton 360 Premium subscriptions of 10 computers each) for Windows. The page showing devices and licenses is a mess. Some of the devices listed on "View Devices" no longer exist, yet show as online. Some are listed as "online", some as "offline" and some have no indication of onlineness either way. Some of the devices names listed on "Manage Licenses" are different from those listed on "View Devices". Some devices are listed twice.

No where can I find to which of the two licenses any give device is assigned.

I am going through each license and disabling it to see which computer it shows up on as "expired." Two questions:

1. When I find a correlation, between a "device" and an actual computer, I would like to rename the device on the Norton account to the correct name (some of the actual computer names have changed over time). Is there a way to do this?

2. Is there any way to determine to which actual Product Serial Number a given device is licenses?

Thanks

Yeah, the site showing devices on or off line has always been a little flaky.
On any Windows devices make sure Remote Management is enabled.  Settings > Administrative Settings > Remote Management > On > Apply.

The Devices page in your Norton Account is notorious for being incorrect. The first thing to check is to open the classic 360 interface on your devices by clicking on the Norton icon in the system tray and clicking on Open Norton 360. Then click on Settings > Administrative Settings and be sure Remote Management is turned on. That will allow the device to be listed in your Account. It may take a little time as it is not instantaneous.

To get an accurate list of devices, log into your Norton Account and click on the user icon at the top right, then click on Manage My Subscriptions. Then find your current subscription and click on Manage Licenses to see the list of devices activated on that subscription.

Re: how to rename licensed devices

Thanks for that info. The information under Account icon > Manage Licenses is exactly what I was looking for. Now I can correlate devices with licenses, and I can see how many of what license is/is-not used.

I'd now like to enable the Remote Management as advised, but I find no "Administrative Settings" or "Remote Management" under settings (Windows 10, logged in as Admin). Where is this exactly?

Re: how to rename licensed devices

Switch between the My Norton window and Classic view
https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v135516915

From Norton tray icon ->
Open My Norton for My Norton view
Open Norton 360 for Classic view

Note:
Settings from tray icon opens My Norton Settings
Settings from Classic view opens Norton 360 Settings

Norton 360 -> Classic view -> Settings ->

Norton 360 -> Classic view -> Settings -> Launch View -> Classic or My Norton

Norton 360 -> Classic view -> Settings -> Administrative Settings -> Remote Management -> On -> Apply

Re: how to rename licensed devices

Ah! I was looking in Windows Settings, not Norton settings. That solves the first mystery. I did find "Classic View" under the 'Settings' (icon) > "Launch View". It appears that Remote management is already turned on for all users. I'm not entirely sure what "Remote Management" buys me. Maybe that's what keeps the "Manage My Subscriptions" page in-sync. In any case the "Manage My Subscriptions" page is exactly what I was looking for. The "View Devices" page is complete garbage. It shows one user with 3 licenses, three others with two licenses, and a bunch of "devices" I have no idea what they are. The "Manage Licenses" page is equally useless in terms of showing actual devices. I can disable licenses from the "Manage My Subscriptions" page, so I have no use for either of these crapola pages. Not only that, but disabling a license from the "Manage Licenses" page actually disabled a license for the wrong computer.

Although you have answered my main question, I have one more if that's not too much and doesn't need a separate posting ...

On a single-user subscription, the user can install on up to 5 additional devices. What about this 10 license Norton 360 Premium? Does each instance installed for a user ALSO allow 5 additional devices for that user, or it this just 10 total devices, regardless of for which user/device it is installed? Thanks.
