Re: Any feature to disable update for Liveupdate?

How old is your Norton product? What is the product name and version number?

What operating system and version are you running?

You can disable automatic LiveUpdate, but it is not recommended as you will not have the latest malware definitions. Your system would not be fully protected.

To disable automatic LiveUpdate, open the classic Norton interface and click on Settings. Then uncheck the Automatic LiveUpdate setting. Note that you will have to be logged into Windows with an administrator user account to be able to change Norton settings.

Norton Ghost 15, there was no feature to disable LiveUpdate at all. Do you have any suggestions? Thank you very much for any suggestions (^v^)

Re: Any feature to disable update for Liveupdate?

Norton Ghost was discontinued in March of 2013. So even if you are able to install it, you would not have to worry about any LiveUpdates as there has been no updates to that product since 2013.

See this announcement about the End of Life for Ghost.   https://community.norton.com/en/forums/norton-ghost-has-been-discontinued

Re: Any feature to disable update for Liveupdate?

I usually open Ghost under user account without problem, recently I receive following error message, I wonder on whether it related to LiveUpdate or not. Re: Any feature to disable update for Liveupdate?

I never used Ghost so I cannot help with what you might be seeing. But as I noted, there would not have been any LiveUpdates received by the product for close to ten years. So if you have been using Ghost all this time, and you just recently started seeing this message, there seems to be something else causing this.

Are you using a Windows Admin user account?
