cannot get the

Just started using Norton 360 Vault. I downloaded the NortonImport_WinChrome64.zip and extracted. Ran the program import_password.exe  but it never creates the output file to put in the Vault. Also tried running as Administrator. Tried running in it's own folder and extracting to the desktop.

I'm trying to export/import from Goggle Chrome Version 111.0.5563.65 (Official Build) (64-bit) on Windows 11

I did export a CVS file from Chrome, but unfortunately Norton doesn't like it's formatting.

Re: cannot get the

Hello SA,

I was following the tutorial on this page :  https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v125566479   and it never creates the .json file.

I followed the tutorial you sent (Thank You BTW) but unfortunately the Norton Password Manager only has in it the "new" (to the program) logins that I have used over the last couple of weeks.

I have no idea if this is feasible but I would think that Password Manager should have an, "Import logins from browser". But I cannot find anything like that.

Stay Safe,

Nigel.

Re: cannot get the

Is the json file located on your desktop and have you looked in other default folders for it? In step #10 where you should "In the Import your Data window, select the logins you want to protect in your vault, and click Import". Can you see ALL your passwords from Chrome in that area?

Re: cannot get the

Hello again.

I did a full search of /Users for .json, no luck. Not on Desktop and I did try running the program from the desktop.  Tried running as standard user and as Admin.

Re: cannot get the

It appears that the *.json file will disappear after 20 minutes have passed. Start fresh and download  the app again. Unzip the contents of the zip file. Then find the file named import_password.exe and double click it to run it. The .json file should then be presented into your desktop area. In step #2 locate the .json file and import it. Please see if ALL your Chrome passwords are visible and selectable at this point in the process if you will. DO NOT close your browser for any reason during the entire process or it will terminate the process.

Re: cannot get the

Sadly I've done the procedure over and over. The search I did was seconds after running the program, no sign of a .json file anywhere.

Re: cannot get the

Just for clarity, you allowed the browser to remain open correct? The json file SHOULD be deposited on the desktop. I'm truly at a loss. Lets hear from others in the community for more input.

Re: cannot get the

Yes, browser remained open during the program run.

Re: cannot get the

Are ad blockers and such disabled while doing the task? I can't think of anything else that would be preventing the json from being created if you are doing this with an admin account.
