Airdrop iOS15 not working

Hello everybody,

I am new to Norton 360 and the product seemed to be working fine. However, I soon realized after installing airdrop is not working properly anymore. Most of the times my device does not show up at all on other devices or computers. If it shows for some reason I am not able to transfer files. Even turning off VPN doesnt do the job.

In some instances rebooting my device does help but not even this is consistent.

It seems though that the Identity part is the problem. I have one device which doesn't have this feature activated. however I don't know how to deactivate Identity on my other devices.

what can I do to solve the problem?

cheers Pierre

Re: Airdrop iOS15 not working

As a diagnostic step, try turning off the Web Protection feature in 360.  Then see if your airdrop works as expected.

Re: Airdrop iOS15 not working

Thanks for the reply. I habe done this but it still didn’t work. It clearly seems that the identity protect is the problem for the airdrop problem does not affect my iPad where this feature isn’t active. Apparently it seems that only the “master” device uses the mail address for identity check. This can’t be turned off I gues! Erasing the App solves the problem but I’d like to use Norton. But airdrop is also important for me. Best Pierre

Re: Airdrop iOS15 not working

Are you seeing the problem mainly on your iOS device, or the Mac? Maybe other Mac users can help here. I'll ask this thread be moved to the Mac board.

Thanks again for the reply. I don’t use Norton on my Mac. Only on my devices.

Re: Airdrop iOS15 not working

Now its working again.
I hope that I will get a hint regarding a solution.

It clearly seems that the identity protect is the problem for the airdrop

You mentioned that you think the identity feature is involved with your issue with Airdrop.  I see no way that feature interacts with your phone. The feature I suggested turning off was the Safe Web feature in the Internet Security section of your 360 app. This used to be called Web Protection, so I apologise for any confusion.

If you are willing to try again, can you test with Safe Web disabled to see if that resolves the Airdrop issue?
