How secure is Norton's VPN solution?

Could someone please explain why Norton VPN is not able to establish a secure VPN tunnel?

When connected via VPN, dnsleaktest.com reports the correct VPN region, but when performing a dns-leak test it finds several "unauthorized" dns servers. See attached images.

(the attached example connection is from Norway to the UK).

Re: How secure is Norton's VPN solution?

DNS leaks occur because your ISP servers are being used to translate the web site ID to numerics. Those servers are showing up in your tests. You need to change your Windows settings to use a public DNS servers. Do a Google search and you will find instructions.

Thanks xjoex!

I changed my WiFi adapter's IPv4 DNS setting from Automatic to Manual and listed 208.67.222.222 (Cisco) as Preferred and 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) as Alternate.  That did the trick! DNSLeaktest.com now only list one server.

You are welcome and Good job. I like using Google dns servers instead of my ISP. Norton's VPN servers are located around the world and they will show in the test of course
