Being that the article gives a listing of general software types. Cryptomining being one of them, wondering if Defender, although being basically silent once Norton is installed, will it affect Norton Crypto and begin giving headaches? Thoughts and feedback welcomed.

Thank you for the article as always very timely.

My own thoughts (even though I am not a miner so maybe I am not qualified to give any opinion ) is that with Norton on and Microsoft Defender off there would be no problem. I guess if a manual scan is done with Microsoft Defender it would give a warning about the Norton Crypto Program which might cause some confusion.

Of course if Norton is turned off for some reason then that might also cause some issues. I will stay tuned here and listen to what others think.

Microsoft is aware of Norton’s cryptomining functionality, and does not consider it to be a Potentially Unwanted Application. Thanks.
