Getting Incognito Browsing Detected when no one is on my laptop

I have gotten more than 8 Incognito Browsing Detected emails in the last 4 wks, increasing in frequency, notifying me my daughter may have activated private browsing. They are always when no one is on my laptop. I got 4 just this last week. Last night's was at 12:02am, the night before was 12:05am, other times have been 2:50pm, 9:36am, etc. I KNOW no one is using my laptop when these emails come. Why are they coming? How can I stop them? Super frustrated.

Are you using Norton Family to manage your daughter's device(s). If so, it sounds like she may be trying to bypass your monitoring/control of her device.

I have Norton Family on my device but I disabled it on this device because it was shutting me off my own device while I was using it (when she was in school). She is not trying to bypass it. I am the only one who uses it. I just got another notification this a.m. while I was on my laptop about my laptop (that someone may have activated private browsing/incognito on the specific laptop I was using at that exact moment). This has happened numerous times--sometimes during the night when I know no one is up, sometimes during the day while I'm using my laptop. It's creepy and annoying. I know I'm not doing it. No one else is here. In today's instance--again--I was using it when I got the notification.

Hi Crazybusymom,

Incognito alert are sent once in a day if any of the incognito browser instances are kept open or even if it is running in the background.

We notice that alerts are generated from the Windows 10 device (version 10.0.19043).

Could you please close all browser instances and ensure that no browser instances are running in the background using task manager.

Looking at Task Manager I only have Google Chrome (using to write this) & my email client. And looking at the details on my Task Manager, there is nothing that looks browser-related under the Background Processes either. Thanks.

Do you still see Chrome entries in task manager after you close Chrome?
