Secure VPN doesn't turn on automatically when it's connected to unsecured network

I installed Norton 360 on my iPhone 12.  It seems great.  I set the VPN to turn on automatically if it encounters a compromised network.  Now when I encounter an unsecure network, it does not turn on automatically, but I get a notification from "Norton Secure VPN" which I already had on my phone before 360 that I should turn on the VPN.  If I do turn it on, Norton Secure VPN turns on and not the version in Norton 360.  So, I guess that leads to 2 questions.  Do both of these products work together? Or should I have uninstalled Norton Secure VPN? and why doesn't Norton 360 VPN turn on automatically when I encounter an unsecure network? I thought that was the point.

Re: Secure VPN doesn't turn on automatically when it's connected to unsecured network

If you have both 360 and the standalone Norton Secure VPN apps installed, you should uninstall the standalone.

As for 360 warning about the unsecured network. Unsecured does not mean it is compromised. That is why the Auto VPN setting does not turn the VPN on. Depending on what you are planning to do with the device, you can choose to use the device as is, as long as you are not using any apps that send your login information over the internet connection. Keep in mind any email app that will look for your emails in the background, etc. So it is still wise to manually turn on the VPN for unsecured networks.
