vpn not starting anymore on my old MacBook

Norton 360 VPN no longer starts up on my v old MacBook Pro running 10.11.6 El Capitan. I'm assuming it's no longer supported - if so any suggestions on a vpn that would work?

It might be caused by the latest Norton 360 update 8.8.  Norton support says a fix is coming next month.

Support for Norton Secure VPN has stopped for El Capitan, I'm guessing it means it finally caught up to the N360 VPN too. More info: https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v137634884
