System Extension for Norton on Mac - Settings Question

I downloaded Norton 360 onto my Macbook last week. I noticed that the Norton system extension has ability to control apps, screen record, monitor input like the keyboard etc. 

Is this normal for the software? Do I need to keep those all turned on / enabled on my mac? 

Does that mean Norton see everything I look at / type?
