NPM-is it for real or just a non-function POS?

So, I've had Norton for a LONG time (since it was just DOS utilities without AV), but recently the changes are driving me to another solution.  I'm finding that I can not get NPM to work in CHROME or EDGE.  I can get it to work in Edge IF I record my NORTON ACCOUNT username and password OFFLINE - and use it login to Norton.com (defeats the entire purpose of NPM).  Once I do that, I can get it to work in EDGE only - it will not work in CHROME under any configuration that I can find.  There are some sites that just don't work in EDGE and CHROME must be use.  The only solution at this point is to have a window in each browser open and copy / past the information from EDGE to CHROME - not something I want to continue doing.  Anyone have any solutions.....please do tell me to uninstall/reinstall have done that several times already.

I'm using Windows 11 with Norton™ 360 with LifeLock™ Advantage. Extensions installed on both Edge and Chrome.   Chrome is 107.0.5304.122 (Official Build) (64-bit) Edge is 107.0.1418.56 (Official build) (64-bit)

I will say that once I get logged into it, Edge works ok util some unknow event causes it to 'not remember' it was logged in - at which point I have to have the information offline or it becomes real pain in the backside to get logged in to Norton.

Any solution recommendations appreciated.

Re: NPM-is it for real or just a non-function POS?

Hi,

Sorry for the issue you are facing. Can you please clarify my below query?

Issue 1 - On Edge, whenever you try to access Norton Password Manager you are asked to sign in to Norton Account email credentials 1st followed by vault password before you can use it for Fill on different sites, is my understanding correct about the issue?

If yes, Can you please share the extension version you are using?

Issue2 - On both Chrome and Edge, there are few websites on which we dont offer for filling or capturing the credentials?

If yes, can you please share the websites on which you faced this issue?

Hello ArdentHaste. On both Edge and Chrome, check your settings in both browsers to see if you are allowing the browser to store passwords and logins. If they are enabled please disable. Reboot the computer and retest, please let us know if this helps or not so we may follow-up.

Re: NPM-is it for real or just a non-function POS?

Thanks for the assistance, however both are set to disable the storing of passwords and logins.  I did however find a solution after hunting just trying all kinds of settings. Turns out that using the ellipsis and going to extensions doesn't make it 'visible'.  So, while it's on - it just doesn't appear to be.  You have to use the 'hammer'  and pin the extension to the toolbar.....then you can use the NPW from the chrome window to login into NPM and use it to get into the Norton Account.  What a waste of time.  I guess the lesson is to either record you stuff in print or just don't use Edge until they fix it.

Hi,

Steps you mentioned above is to Pin the extension icon to Chrome Address bar for easier access.

Even without pinning the extension icon, Norton Password Manager should start capturing and filling your data if you had setup Norton Account and Vault password.
