New Private Window with TOR in Brave Browser

I am using Windows 10 Pro. TOR remains 'Disconnected' in the Brave Browser 'New Private Window with TOR' option until I select Norton 'Disable Auto-Protect', close Brave, reopen Brave, reselect New Private Window with TOR. Once TOR connects I can enable auto-protect and all seems to work OK. I have seen a Norton message pop up once that said this application is safe, but it does appear to stop it working. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
