Unknown drive in "Devices and Drive" section of file explorer

Bild wird moderiertI found the following unknown drive in the computer. I didn't install any new software or drivers. Is this any security issue? I so, why norton failed to recognize it.

Re: Unknown drive in "Devices and Drive" section of file explorer

Hello Ratnadip. This indeed COULD be a serious issue. Seeing a drive named in a different language raises red flags for me. The problem is, determining what this drive partition actually is. Here are some suggestions:

1-Is this a new computer or, have you upgraded to Windows 11? This is important information for us to know.

2-From the task bar search, type "Disk Management" and open it. Right mouse click on the drive icon in question, scroll down the listing to "properties" and open, lets see what dialog appears. You should be looking for whether it suggests initiation of the partition. If that is the case you may see MBR or NTFS as possibilities. DO NOT initialize the drive. Your screenshot doesn't show any physical storage available so its most likely not usable. Please provide a screenshot for us to review with you. Screenshots will be important going forward so please provide them if asked for it.

3-Disconnect ALL USB devices connected to the computer, then, reboot the device. Lets see if the partition still appears.

1. This is not a new computer. I have been using this for around 2 years.

2.

3. reboot doesn't change anything

Re: Unknown drive in "Devices and Drive" section of file explorer

Did the computer come with Windows 11 installed, OR, was it upgraded to Windows 11? If upgraded what was the upgrade method? What is the model of your computer, and what is the full model of the CPU? Also what is the version and build of your Windows 11 install? You should not have two UEFI or two recovery partitions on the system. Are you dual-boot configured?

Re: Unknown drive in "Devices and Drive" section of file explorer

Thanks for the post-back. I've asked for a moderator to remove the device id and product id as they are PI information, from your last post as a security precaution.

Does this drive/partition also appear within your device manager under discs?

One observation from the Disk Management screenshot. You have a C and an E drive. Did you have a D drive at some time? Where did it go? Was it a removable drive? May be related to the mystery drive.

Re: Unknown drive in "Devices and Drive" section of file explorer

Due to some path requirements for some of my backups and software I require driver letter E. But have made only two pation I have to drop D. If I put any removal device sometimes they use that letter and it is already released here.

Re: Unknown drive in "Devices and Drive" section of file explorer

Also give a look in the area shown below in Windows. Control Panel>Devices and Printers. I found 67 instances of VIDAA TV here earlier today and have zero idea how it got there. I've had my Hisense smart TV on the WiFi network for ages and never had anything appeared on my wired PC as a multimedia device until today. You MAY find it here. If so just remove it and restart the machine.
