A new strain of the Petya ransomware started propagating on June 27, 2017, infecting many organizations. Similar to WannaCry, Petya uses the Eternal Blue exploit as one of the means to propagate itself.

Am I protected from the Petya Ransomware?

Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) and Norton products proactively protect customers against attempts to spread Petya using Eternal Blue. SONAR behavior detection technology also proactively protects against Petya infections.

A virulent new strain of ransomware known as WannaCry (Ransom.Wannacry) has hit hundreds of thousands of computers worldwide since its emergence on Friday, May 12.

We have released a patch for Norton Identity Safe which contains a fix for a browser protection issue and a Firefox 44 compatible extension.  This update is for all Norton products v22.5.5.15 – Norton 360, Norton Internet Security, Norton Security, Norton Security with Backup Norton Antivirus, Norton Security Suite. This patch is available via LiveUpdate to customers with a current subscription.

Windows 10 is now officially released! This article will guide you through the Norton compatibility with Windows 10.

We are pleased to announce that a Windows 10 compatibility update is now available for Norton Products, updating the version to 22.5.0.124. The following products and versions will receive the Norton 22.5 update:

Norton Security v22
Norton Security with Backup v22
Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus & Norton 360 v21
Norton Internet Security, Norton AntiVirus & Norton 360 v20

This update is available via LiveUpdate for Norton Security and Norton Security with Backup v22, and will be automatically downloaded and installed. If you wish to receive the update immediately, simply run LiveUpdate manually. For NIS/NAV/N360 versions 20 & 21, the update is available via Norton Update Center or through your product About > Get Latest Version. This update is available for all languages.

We have completed testing our latest update of Norton Security and Norton Security with Backup 22.0.1.14, and have released the update. To download it, simply run LiveUpdate. Currently, this update is only available for English. Other languages will be available shortly. A reboot will be required for Windows XP & Vista customers, however no reboot will be required for Windows 7 or Windows 8 customers.

As with our previous updates, this version is being released in a phased manner; see the below FAQ for details. A reboot will be required for Windows XP & Vista customers, however no reboot will be required for Windows 7 or Windows 8 customers.
