Ditto to all. Any eBay Motors page comes up as fraudulent, although can be bypassed by choosing to ignore.

hi tallt - i have the same thing (one that says fradulant and one that does not) - i ran LiveUpdate on both and now the one that didn't report as fradulant is coming up positive.
i submitted the page to this site:
https://submit.symantec.com/antifraud/false_positive.cgi
Tony indicated in another unrelated thread that updates for anti-phishing can occur several times a day, so i'd recommend to continue running LiveUpdate every hour or so until it the site is clear.

I don't do eBay but I went to the links given in messages here without any warnings even if I clicked on links within the initial pages.
I'm using NIS2008 and updated it manually about an hour ago when two critical intrusion engine updates came down -- FWIW

I'm not clear on the solution. I ran LiveUpdate just now and still get the same false posivite for a fraudulent page (only on eBay Motors).
Could you provide the specific URL that is causing this false positive? Thanks!

That fits in with my experience on all the links in messages here ....

New twist, when visiting the site from the link within this forum, no fraud alert. But when visiting the site from within eBay motors the fraud alert is still there.

Disregard previous post. Fraud alert comes up all the time.

I do not see the "Website Athentication Definitions", but perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

The false postive is not from the URL directly but from the Iframe of the URL where the description is hosted. On some Motors listings on the eBay site they have a new format and have an iframe. The actual description is hosted on a different URL.

eBay is apparently testing another initiative on eBay Motors to limit fraud on the site. Some listings are loading descriptions in a frame that are being served from vi.ebaydesc.com rather than cgi.ebay.com. By moving the listing description to its own domain, eBay can supposedly limit hackers' ability to use HTML and javascript to overlay other images or text on top of real eBay pages. Reportedly, if the initiative is successful, it could roll out to all eBay Motors listings by June.
Its the URL beginning with vi.ebaydesc.com that is the false positive I believe
Hope that helps

I ran LiveUpdate and am still getting a Fraudulent Web Page Blocked message. Also, on the ebay motors auctions that I can get into I only get the top part of the auction page with no image of the item and cannot see any of the details of the auction. What should I do now????????????
Fraudulent Web Page Blocked

This web page is a known fraudulent web page. It is recommended that you do NOT visit this page.
FWIW that URL does not post here as a valid link as usually is the case and when I pasted it into my address box in IE7 it contained a lot of invalid characters and IE7 failed to get anywhere. And yet when I paste it in here it appears OK:
http: //promo.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewCategoryLis t&storeid=2856126&downgradeDomain=true
although there is a space after the s in List
Removing the corruption manually in the address box did take my to eBay but it was very slow loading the first image and I gave up.
