It might help if you were able to tell us what the email said, as they are probably pointing you to the area where the notifications are coming from and I would think that it is not this forum.
However I would guess that somehow you have subscribed to a forum and are being notified of all posts on that forum. If you look at the top right of a forum screen you will see a line with your user name: Sign Out, My Settings, and Help. If you click on "My Settings", then select the "Subscriptions and Notifications" tab, then the "Notifications Settings" option at the top of this tab. The next screen will enable you to set how you want any notifications to be handled. Most of these settings can be set to "never". however there is one that this does not seem to work on and that is for "forum subscriptions" where the choice appears to only be the first post in a topic or all posts. So if I am right and you have subscribed to a forum that is now generating posts to you you will need to go to that forum e.g. Norton Internet Security / Norton AntiVirus, there at the top left next to the orange New Message button is an "Options" dropdown. If you click on that, about the fourth choice down you should see "unsubscribe". Click on that and you should not get any more notifications from that forum.
I hope that helps. If you have any further problems please come back and I will try again.
That does sound odd and there would appear to be a glitch somewhere. I have asked the moderators here to look into it. If the emails are still coming tomorrow, post again and I will try harder.
If you do need to post again can you confirm if the text is the same every time and if so, could you post a copy or extract here so that we know exactly where the problem seems to be arising.
Sorry you are having this trouble. Hopefully it will be resolved soon.
How can I leave norton community I do not want to get any more emails, I have had 100s since joining yesterday
Hi Fez, it looks like that was a result of some action you took on that lengthy "IE crashing" thread over the weekend. I've unsubscribed you from the thread, so you shouldn't receive any more. Sorry for the trouble.
USGOVTEACH, I'm not quite sure which emails you're receiving, but it sounds like they are subscription emails. Can you forward one my way? My email address is listed on my profile. Thanks.
deleted. Tony beat me to it, lol
usgovteach post is from last Aug. 2014. Surprised this thread was still open from back then.
I just want to unsubscribe from the emails I receive from Norton Community! I get them all day long! For months now ever since I registered! Here I've spent a lot of time just to get this question answered! Shame on Norton for not being professional and making it easy for us to opt out! Please advise!
Go into your forum account by clicking on Account in the bar at the top of the page. From there, click on the Edit tab. Then scroll down and click on Notifications. From there you can uncheck the option for Automatically subscribe me to all topics I participate in. Then in the drop down box For Forum Subscriptions, choose None.
I'm not sure if this will cancel existing subscriptions, so you should check the Subscriptions tab in your forum account. That will list the threads you have been subscribed to. You can click on Unsubscribe beside the threads.
Please let us know if this helped.
