NIS 2009 History and iexplore.exe in IE 8

I downloaded Internet Explorer 8  a couple days ago without any problems. But, when I open internet explorer, it shows up two times in my NIS 2009 History

 An instance of "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe" is preparing to access the internet.

 if i open another tab in the same session and go to a web page another instance shows up. it never did this before on IE7. I looked in my Task manager and there will be 2 or 3 instances of iexplore.exe running. This is occuring on both of my computers, one with Windows Xp and the other one with Windows Vista 32.  so I think it is ok, but just to be sure  can anyone else confirm multiple iexplore.exe processes running in their task manager and in NIS 2009 History when opening internet explorer 8.
