How to stay on version 22.11.2.7 ?

Is there any way of installing version 22.11.2.7 and not have LiveUpdate automatically update it to version 22.12.10.104?

I know I can turn off major updates to version 23.X.X.X by disabling Automatic Download of New Version, but how do I stop minor version updates yet still allow signature and other Live Updates?

That can't be done I'm afraid.  Feel free to add your voice to this suggestion.

Fbgnarm, it's hard to tell from your PDF which specific settings need to be changed to disable Live Update to 22.12.10.104.

You keep referring to Phased Manner Release. This has nothing to do with this specific update, but to all major updates put out by Norton. It is not something you can control, it is just the way Norton handles the release of the update. The first phase is to a small percentage of the users so they can watch the telemetry from those users. The next phase is for another small percentage, and again the telemetry is monitored. This goes on until all users are able to get the update. Once it is available to all users, nothing you can do will stop the update if you run LiveUpdate.

Any subsequent updates to fix issues have nothing to do with the original update.

And if you do not run LiveUpdate, you also do not get the latest malware definitions, so your systems are not fully protected.

The settings are to prevent getting Phased Manner Release AGAIN, after doing a re-install.

The re-install is the way to get the BEFORE version. Engage the settings once you are at Version 22.11.x.x.###, periodically check history to see what Automatic LU has done if anything after leaving the system on, untouched for greater that those 1,1,1 minute settings.

Don't be worried if there is a yellow or orange dot instead of blue in the history listing of LU. That just means A-LU paused or quit when it detected keyboard or mouse activity.  Click on any individual listing to get the details screen and if a restart is recommended. A-LU will try again the next untouched duration of time.

Interactive LU prompts to override Economy and deliver the NOT critical product updates.

"Economy Allows Norton to access the Internet only to receive critical product updates and virus definitions."

(using Automatic LiveUpdate mode)

peterweb:"...And if you do not run LiveUpdate, you also do not get the latest malware definitions, so your systems are not fully protected."

Yes I am, I've gotten seven updates today while I was making coffee or on the phone. I usually only ran interactive LU twice sometimes thrice if there wasn't a new show on the tube.

The setting keep you there until the PMR version is ready for Norton to include (re-compile) any Hot Fixes (revised code) into the functionally finished version.release.build and move it to the "PRODUCTS for Sale" page where that Norton Downloader will install it or from the Norton Downloader of Purchased Products additional installs available, if none are left then delete one to make it available for the re-install.

Interactive LiveUpdate is still disclaiming, a dialog box,  that it needs "YES" to override the Network Cost Awareness -> ECONOMY setting, because there are NON CRITICAL PROGRAM Updates, NOT CRITICAL PROGRAM Updates, Experimental(?) PROGRAM Updates that could be installed, delivered if permission is given, because the ECONOMY setting prevents them. Therefore: some Hot Fix is auditioning. When it's ready to go on stage to a paying audience, A-LU  will deliver the production (22.12.0.104) to the theatres (systems the HF addresses). After the intermission of 22.12.0.104 (re-start), the HF will slip in during Idle keyboard mouse time, then it get its reviews published in History -> LU Automatic.

Meanwhile

Automatic LiveUpdate delivered PROTECTION/DEFINITIONS/LISTS-all colors FILES -- 8x February 26 (one more after I finished my above post), 12x February 27, and 6x February 28 - so far.

Automatic- LU just left some parts, Program elements Listed in History, No reboot required.

The last time I got content with NGC's it stopped Norton from turning off the control for the Windows firewall.

At the time the firewall was on and the controls were locked.

That Hot Fix did not turn the control on it just prevented Norton from turning it off at boot. My Win 7 with Norton Partner CenturyLink Antivirus Online has been behaving, but since Economy only allows Critical Program updates: They have now made as DEBUT to preform a Duet. Time to re-start and see if there is anything to notice on my system, Economy is still stopping some Understudies' program codes from taking the stage. I'll see if there is anything to notice before Edit time runs out.

I didn't notice anything

BUT I DID NOTICE IN SETTING "AUTOMATICALLY DOWNLOAD NEW VERSION" was set to ON. I don't know if that just means the first two numbers "22" or if that includes the Release number which is 11. "12" is still in Phased Manner.

And I noticed that on start up, boot the "ECONOMY" SETTING FOR Network Traffic isn't enabled until about 10 minutes in on the "Up Time" counter of -> Task Manager -> Performance tab. So check History that Economy is ON before using Interactive LU to see if the Phased Manner Release is COMPLETED. ~grf
