Core firmware ver. 267 bugs

There are already a handful of issues with the current firmware release and/or Android - iOS apps here. I have yet another to report to the team. The first is an issue where devices which have been repaired and resold months ago repopulating themselves onto the "previously on your network" listing. There is no way to remove them thus my security score has taken a serious hit. A screenshot won't show the entire list as it is extensive thus I am omitting one.

Secondarily, Core Android app / Core itself is now showing a device (owner laptop) as presently being on the network when it is powered down for the past 3 days and in storage. Please see 1st and second screenshots.

Since the last firmware release to version 267 there have not been any release notes posted as well so I don't have any idea as to what was being corrected. Therefore I cannot begin to think the issues I see are other than cloud related. A removal of Core from my account and fully setting up the network again will correct the issue, however that isn't something I have time for at the moment. Anyone seeing these specific issues as well? Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Re: Core firmware ver. 267 bugs

I am seeing lots of issues lately. I even tried blocking devices and it doesn’t seem to be working. Devices stays in list of moving to blocked list Random internet disconnects Guest network no long allocating ip and internet not accessible over it. These are just few Not getting good support from norton core team. Wondering if moving to bit defender would be better.

Re: Core firmware ver. 267 bugs

LK its a firmware issue, all the bugs have been reported, I personally am awaiting some response on what the solution will be. Hopefully the remedy comes soon. Bitdefender will not provide you will the level of protection Norton Core Security Plus does although Core will continue to function as a high performance router without an active subscription. I had rather have the solution to the firmware corruption than just ship to a product which isn't going to provide adequate protection for the network.

Re: Core firmware ver. 267 bugs

Well, the Android app update to 1.80 corrected ONLY the issue where a device still in the home has been off the network was showing as still active and on the network. All other issues remain. Later in the day I will remove the Core from my account and start anew to see whether the old data yet again repopulates. Will post those results when done.

Re: Core firmware ver. 267 bugs

Finally had the opportunity to reset Core, selected remove the Core from my account and remove all settings. During the fresh onboarding there was the option to restore the settings stored in the cloud for the device. I selected NOT to do so. Completed setup. All previously seen devices and junk logs were removed, old listings as well. Core is now seeing things as it should be. All Core functions are normal. Factory reset seems to be the way to correct the junk in the cloud. Core app and firmware also show as current versions.
