freeliveradio removal

I am looking for a clean, simple way to completely remove freeliveradio.com from my system.  I have seen some methods described online, but it is not clear what the best approach is.

Thanks!

Hello SaratogaGap. The easiest way to rid yourself of this browser hijacker is first, get Rkill from Bleeping Computer. This program is 100% safe to use, it will scan for and disable any malicious processes that are running on your system. Next step, which is a part of bjm's suggestion, download Malwarebytes. Run a full system scan. It should find and allow you to remove the pestilence you are seeing. I use these fast and proven methods for my customer base and they absolutely work. Hope this helps, please let us know your status when done.

Cheers

Re: freeliveradio removal

I followed the method in the first reply under remove-free-live-radio.  Malwarebytes found a few items, most that I got rid of, but nothing that looked like freeliveradio.  Then used hitmanpro to do another cleanup.  The latter found fragments only.  Got rid of all those.  So far, I am not seeing the freeliveradio popups .  Time will tell.  While I did a reset on IE, I did not do so on FireFox.  If I see the popups again, I will redo the process and do the reset on FireFox.

Thanks for your help!  Pity that Norton does not handle this directly.

I will reply again in a couple of days after I see if the problem appears fixed.

Re: freeliveradio removal

Pity that Norton does not handle this directly.

It looks like you may have picked up a PUP, a Possibly Unwanted Program. While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.

Norton products concentrate on malware that can damage your system, that is why some PUPs are not detected.

Re: freeliveradio removal

Looked good for a while but today I saw the freeliveradio popup again.  So went thru the cleanup process again (Malwarebytes and hitmanPro were clean) and this time reset both IE and FireFox.  Hopefully that will do the trick.  Time to wait and see now.
