I connected a smart plug and a nintendo switch but when i go to edit the names or select what type of device they are it says failed to save try again? When i look in currently on your network they read identifying-unknown.
Hello brihy1. Are you seeing a notification that those devices are requesting to join the Core network in the app? If so allow it.
I have allowed them but still cant name them.I have connected other smart plugs before and core never identifies them but i was able to name them.Also in the section called type(type of device)there should be smart plug as its pretty common but theres not.
Power cycle your Core, see if it clears the issues you are seeing.
Didn't help same issue.Would be nice if i could remove them and rediscover the devices but that option is not available yet.
Thanks for the feedback, glad hearing the issue corrected itself. Most times a power cycle will take care of it and Core looks at things again. Have a great day.
This is a bug that started with Firmware update version 270 back in November. It takes 45 minutes to 2 hours for the device name to populate in the Core App. Norton Support informed me that it is a known issue and should hopefully be addressed in the next firmware release (not sure when that will be).
Attaching screenshots just to confirm this is the same issue you're seeing.
I wouldn't bet on it being corrected with a fresh firmware update.
